No, we are not your primary doctor. Origin offers advanced care services such as Hospitalist at Home, Emergency Department avoidance visits, and Transitions of Care. Routine health services should still be sought from your Primary Care physician. We collaborate with your primary care provider to update them on any treatments we do provide to you.

No, hospice care provides end-of-life services in your home. Origin provides personalized and safe medical care in your home for known or unexpected medical conditions that would typically be treated in a hospital or Emergency Department.

Hospitalist at Home extends the expertise of hospital care to your residence for specific, acute medical issues. We treat patients who are typically sick enough that they would otherwise need to be in the hospital or Emergency Department, but they can now get that care at home with Origin. We provide more intensive services and treatments and see patients frequently to help them get well. Our physicians are involved with the daily visits and care plan. Home Healthcare is typically used when patients’ medical issues are stable, and they need just occasional visits from nursing, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, without daily physician supervision. You can continue to receive home health care services while under the care of Origin.

Hospitalist at Home involves multiple days of care with frequent monitoring and at least two daily visits, while Origin Acute Care is tailored for conditions requiring a single visit.

Our assessment and your level of treatment you require will guide this decision. We will discuss our recommendations and treatment plan with you and your family during the visit and ensure you have the appropriate follow up–whether through additional visits from Origin or with your usual primary care physician.

Origin sends a nurse/nurse practitioner to your home for assessments, tests, and treatments. We provide mobile radiology services, blood work if needed and a smart device for vital signs monitoring, and electronic tablet for communication with Origin. Our team visits daily, and you will have daily telehealth appointments, and calls with our physician. We offer 24/7 support for Hospitalist at Home patients.
